As part of the preparations for its centenary, the International Labour Office (ILO) signed a four-year partnership agreement with the Institut d'études avancées de Nantes in October 2010.

This partnership involves the organization of a series of international meetings designed to renew and deepen the study of the humanization of work since 1919. This series of talks focuses on the meaning of work (2011), safety at work (2012), the image of work (2013) and the time and rhythms of work (2014).

Between 2020 and 2025, the ILO has supported fellowships through an ILO Chair designed to encourage research on the theme of work.
