Two days of work meetings at the heart of the Institute: the Scientific Council.

The Institute is hosting a two-day working meeting, taking place in person in Nantes. Usually, the members of the Scientific Council, who come from all over the world, meet via videoconference throughout the year. Therefore, this in-person gathering is a valuable opportunity for these key players to truly connect, exchange ideas, and strengthen ties within the Institute's community.

Over the course of these two working days, discussions will focus on various crucial topics, including the renewal of council members, the chairs present at the Institute, and, most importantly, the selection of the future cohort of fellows who will reside at the Institute during the 2025-2026 academic year.

This year, the Institute received 129 applications for the 2025-2026 cohort, which will consist of only about ten fellows. The selection process began in spring 2024 with the receipt of applications. Currently, the evaluation phase is underway and will continue until the end of November.

This meeting serves as a key step where council members discuss the future fellows. In addition to selecting high-quality candidates, this process aims to create a cohort that encourages dialogue and collaboration, ensuring that the disciplines and backgrounds of the candidates intersect. Council members carefully review applications and discuss evaluations, highlighting the opportunities that their stay at the Institute could provide for the personal and professional development of the fellows.

This meeting also provides an opportunity for council members to meet this year's cohort, which they selected in December 2023, thereby strengthening the connection between generations of fellows and the council.

This event illustrates the Institute's commitment to attracting promising talent and fostering a collaborative and enriching environment for everyone involved.
