The call for applications for the FIAS (French Institutes of Advanced Studies) programme is now open for the 2027–2028 academic year.
This international mobility programme offers high-level research fellowships across seven Institutes for Advanced Study in France, including the Nantes Institute for Advanced Study. It is open to researchers from all disciplines, particularly in the social sciences and humanities, as well as to projects engaging in dialogue with these fields.
In Nantes, particular attention is given to projects that resonate with the Institute’s main research orientations, at the intersection of issues such as academic freedom and epistemic justice, the dynamics between creation, narratives and knowledge, and transformations related to the habitability of the world, the commons, and interdependencies.
Selected candidates will join the 2027–2028 cohort of fellows and will be hosted in residence at the Nantes Institute for Advanced Study, alongside other international researchers as well as artists. They will benefit from an interdisciplinary academic environment that fosters exchange and supports the development of their work.
🗓 Application deadline: 15 June 2026
