Since 2009, the Institut d'études avancées has welcomed over 350 academics and artists.
IEA Nantes welcomed its first class of resident researchers in January 2009. However, the Institute was preceded by a prefiguration program financed by Nantes Métropole, which enabled numerous scientific personalities to be invited to Nantes for a few days or a few months.
