Founded in 1904, the École des Beaux-Arts de Nantes enjoys an exceptional national and international reputation, thanks to the quality of its training, its development and its reputation. Its arrival in 2017 in the former Alstom halls on the Île de Nantes, rehabilitated by architect Franklin Azzi, reinforces its attractiveness and its position as one of France's leading art schools.
Located at the heart of a new urban center alongside other higher education institutions in the arts and culture (architecture, cinema, design, communications, digital cultures, dance, music, etc.), which will bring together 5,000 students and researchers in the future, the Beaux-Arts de Nantes is working with its new partners to develop bridge courses, joint professionalization projects and a dynamic student life.
In spring 2018, the École d'Arts de Saint-Nazaire joined the Établissement public de coopération culturelle (EPCC), renamed Beaux-Arts Nantes Saint-Nazaire. In 2022, it will move into the heart of the city, alongside the Théâtre, opposite the multidisciplinary venue Le LiFE.
Today, the cities of Nantes and Saint-Nazaire form an increasingly rich environment, as evidenced by the various projects in favor of the visual and plastic arts.
The Ecole des Beaux Arts is co-holder of the "Arts, Society and Contemporary Change" artistic chair.
