Why does the urgency of the climate and ecological crisis clash with our inaction?
The answer lies in the logic that structures the political philosophies inherited from the Enlightenment and which are still ours today. Now, understanding why the ideologies of the past cannot respond to the challenges of the present allows us to draw the outlines of a path to take. This is what Convivialism proposes, the product of the cooperation of hundreds of committed intellectuals from over 30 countries.
François Gauthier, a founding member of Convivialism and professor of Religious Sciences at the University of Fribourg in Switzerland. He is resident at the Institute of Advanced Studies in Nantes in 2022-2023.
