Interpretation between French, Spanish and Italian by Aurélia Dedieu
The Friday session aims to examine how energy commons contribute to renewing forms of cooperation, governance, and solidarity in Europe. Structured around three major roundtables (Italian, Spanish, and French), it offers a comparative journey through initiatives that, each in their own way, experiment with concrete forms of sharing, collective management, and citizen participation.
The discussions highlight the diversity of practices: territory-based energy communities, citizen cooperatives, local associations, and hybrid projects combining technical, legal, economic, and social engagement. Each roundtable is complemented by a European perspective, helping identify what circulates between countries, what creates obstacles, and what can be shared.
The afternoon continues this dynamic by exploring the possibility of a European law of the commons, followed by a collective synthesis oriented toward the development of a future Horizon Europe program. More than a simple exchange of experiences, the day offers a space of inquiry where researchers and practitioners work together to uncover the ‘grammar’ linking energy commons to a more social and participatory Europe.
