Felwine Sarr, who was hosted by the Nantes Institute for Advanced Study from September 2017 to June 2018, was in residence in Paris from September 6 to November 4, 2025, invited by KADIST in partnership with the Centre Pompidou and the Festival d’Automne à Paris. His project La Fabrique du Présent examines African philosophical, cultural, and ethical resources as levers for transformation: hospitality, repair, and shared life.
This program explores hospitality, repair, and the possibility of weaving “a shared life” in a world shaken by fractures and crises. It unfolded through public lectures, experiential workshops, and multidisciplinary encounters. Felwine Sarr’s current work resonates deeply with the values upheld today by the Institute: thinking complexity, embracing plurality, amplifying diverse voices, and crossing disciplinary boundaries. It is not only about producing thought, but about circulating it, sharing it, and bringing it into the common space.
