We are delighted to announce the arrival this summer of two new members: Sayaka Dake, a professor of law at Tohoku University (Japan), and Nadera Shalhoub-Kervorkian, a professor of criminology, women's studies, and social work at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem (Israel). Their expertise will undoubtedly enrich the discussions and projects of the Council.
Since December 6, 2023, Marc-Henry Soulet, a professor of sociology at the University of Fribourg (Switzerland), has been the chair of the Scientific Council. The Council consists of 9 to 12 members appointed for a three-year term by the Board of Directors, based on the recommendations of the Collegial Management and current members.
The Scientific Council of the Institute is composed of researchers who bring a diversity of perspectives and expertise. Currently, alongside Sayaka Dake and Nadera Shalhoub-Kervorkian, it includes Marc-Henry Soulet, as well as Antonio de Almeida Mendes, Ziad Elmarsafy, Kazumichi Hashimoto, Ignacio Siles, Aniruddhan Vasudevan, and Pu Wang. It is also worth noting that Svetla Koleva, Nana Ama Browne Klutse, and Maria Clara Bernal Bermudez joined the Council last year, enriching the collective reflection with their respective expertise.
With these new additions, the Scientific Council is better balanced to continue guiding the Institute towards new cohorts of fellows, innovative and collaborative scientific projects, while strengthening its ties with the international research community.
