The Swedish Collegium for Advanced Study (SCAS), nestled in the heart of the Uppsala Botanical Garden, is now accepting applications for the 2026–2027 academic year. This prestigious institute offers residential fellowships to researchers from around the world, both early-career and established, in the fields of the humanities and social sciences. Four distinct programs are available, each providing an environment conducive to high-level interdisciplinary research. The application deadline is set for June 2, 2025.

Researchers may apply for a full academic year (from September to June) or for a semester.
The available programs are as follows:
- Barbro Klein Fellowship Program
This program is aimed at researchers in the humanities and social sciences and focuses on research related to cultural and social diversity, cultural heritage and creativity, societal structures and forms of public resistance, as well as various cultural expressions from both local and global perspectives.
- Human Past Fellowship Program
This program seeks to attract researchers working on different aspects of human history, combining approaches and materials from various disciplines. It primarily focuses on three major migration movements: the Indo-European, Bantu, and Austronesian expansions. Fellows can come from diverse fields such as archaeology, genetics, and linguistics.
- SCAS-Nordic Fellowship Program
Open to researchers in the humanities and social sciences holding a position at a university in the Nordic countries (Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, as well as the Faroe Islands, Greenland, and Åland).
Eligibility criteria vary depending on the program and the candidate's level of experience (established researchers or early-career researchers).
