Literary discussion with Geetanjali Shree and Annie Montaut, ex-fellows of the Institut, hosted by Timothée Demeillers.

"A story will be told. It will be a story that is at once complete and incomplete, as stories go. It's an interesting story. There's a border, and women, coming, going, crossing, all the way. A border and women, and the story makes itself. Even the woman is enough. It's a story. A trigger. Afterwards, the story flies with the wind. To the grass that grows, pushing the body to catch the wind, and the sun too when it sets, it lights the myriad candles of history, galore, to prick them against the clouds, and they all join in the ride". G.S.

We invite you to celebrate the success of the book that won the 2022 International Booker Prize and the 2022 Inalco Translation Prize. Alongside our pride in these achievements, we also strongly wish to honour this remarkable work on the place of women in Indian society, as well as a poetic and literary reflection on borders, a major theme of the research pursued at the Institute.
