In 2024-2025, Pierre-Etienne Kenfack is Director of the Institut d'études avancées and Sophie Halart is Deputy Director. They will work as a trio with Emmanuelle Garcia, Executive Director. Welcome to them!
The principle of rotation and term of office
The rotation of scientific management functions at the Institut d'études avancées de Nantes is based on several structuring ideas:
- the search for complementary points of view, the sharing of scientific leadership and the development of relations to enhance the Institute's influence;
- the enrichment of work topics through collective intelligence, different and complementary fields of expertise, dialogue, shared decisions and horizontal exchanges;
- the distribution of time spent in Nantes to enable each member to pursue his or her academic career.
The scientific ambitions of the Institute are therefore supported and represented by a pair of academics for the management and deputy management, ideally ex-fellows of the Institute who have applied and been appointed by the Board of Directors; implementation is ensured by an Executive Director, a permanent employee, who supervises and coordinates the work of the permanent team of 14 people.
